Summer at the Library!
This summer, the library is offering lots of fun activities for tweens and teens! There are Spanish classes, movies, crafts, and family fun events!

Summer Kickoff Party - Saturday, June 4, 11am-12:30pm:
Visit animals from Cathy's Critters Petting Zoo, enjoy a soda, do a craft, sign up for summer reading, and more!
Teen and Tween Activities
Programs for Teens and Tweens this summer with the Lake Dallas Public Library:
Beginner Spanish Class - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 2:15pm
Learn basic Spanish in this free course for teens and adults.
Crafters - Tuesdays, 4pm
Try your hand at the library's weekly craft! All ages and abilities welcome.
Car Basics - Saturday, June 11, 11am
Learn the basics of caring for your car.
Candy Sushi - Saturday, June 18, 3pm
Create your own sushi rolls with CANDY!
Edible Ocean Bowls - Saturday, June 25, 3pm
Create a layered treat and put your decorating skills to the test.
Cookie Wars - Saturday, July 16, 3pm

Mad Science - Life in the Sea - June 11, 2pm
Explore different ocean ecosystems and learn about the plants and animals that live there. Classifying creatures from sharks to sponges gives everyone a taste of ocean diversity.
Crocodile Encounter - June 18, 11am
Learn about different reptiles and their amazing adaptations in this live demonstration.
Author Visit - Mary Brooke Casad - June 25, 10:30am
Mary Brooke Casad is the author of ten books featuring Bluebonnet Armadillo, a traveling Texas armadillo who teaches children about historic Texas sites.
Dino-Bo - July 9, 10:30am
Love dinosaurs? Learn about paleontology, fossils and, of course, dinosaurs!
Kenny Kolter's Drum Circle - July 16, 10:30am
Help Kenny create Lake Dallas's own drum circle through creativity and self expression.
Freddie the Fish - July 23, 11am
Learn about the effects of pollution on fish during this interactive activity with the Denton County Master Gardeners
