How do I get a Library Card?
If you own property in the city of Lake Dallas or Shady Shores, work for the city of Lake Dallas or Shady Shores, or work for Lake Dallas ISD, you are eligible for a free Lake Dallas Library card. 
You mush provide a valid form of identification (current drivers license, state issued photo ID, school photo ID), current month utility bill, lease agreement or pay stub that verifies your address or employment status.

In order to renew a library card, all patrons must produce identification that verifies any change of address, and must clear all outstanding fines and assessments.

Adults may check out up to 25 items (ex. 23 items and a maximum of 2 videos)
Youth under the age of 18 may check out up to 10 items (ex., 9 items and only 1 video)

Videos are checked out for 1 week -  3 videos per adult card and 1 video per minor card if the parent, grandparent, or guardian has indicated consent when the card was issued.

Circulated books are checked out for 14 days - up to 25 items per adult card. Up to 10 books for children under 18, with one renewal allowed.

Magazines remain in the library and are not checked out.

Videos may not be shown for fund-raising or commercial purposes or where admission is charged. Videos are not for classroom use. Public Domain Videos are an exception.

Non-book materials must be returned in the containers provided.

Checkouts may be limited further in order to increase the circulation of high demand material to as many patrons as possible.

I Need a Replacement Card
You can get a replacement card at anytime for $2.00

 My Card Was Stolen
Report lost or stolen card immediately. We will put a block on it and can issue a new one to you.  You are responsible for all items checked out on the card until you report it lost or stolen.
