City of Lake Dallas Seeking Applicants for City Council Vacancy
The City of Lake Dallas is accepting applications beginning immediately through Thursday, October 15, 2015 until 5:00 p.m. for appointment to fill the vacancy resulting from Mayor Pro-Tem (Place 2) Mike McCaleb’s appointment to Mayor. This is a temporary appointment and the appointee to City Council Place 2 will complete the current, unexpired term which ends in May of 2016, at which time elections will determine who will continue in the position.
Applications are available at City Hall or may be printed from the City website at http://www.lakedallas.com/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/149
To be eligible, an applicant must be a qualified voter and a Lake Dallas resident of at least one year; be at least 21 years of age; not be employed by the City; and meet all other eligibility requirements of the Texas Election Code.
Anyone who is eligible and interested in serving should complete an application, place it in a sealed envelope, address it to the “Office of the City Secretary”, and bring it to City Hall during normal business hours that are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may also leave it at the Police Communications window (located in the City Hall Lobby) after hours. A resume is requested, but not required.
Applicants will be contacted upon review of the applications to verify eligibility and scheduled for interviews that will occur at the City Council Meeting on Thursday, October 22, at 7:30 p.m. If an applicant is selected, an appointment and oath of office will follow.
