Event Details

This is a spectacular, one-of-a-kind celebration that unites the communities of Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores in celebration of our Nation’s birth. The festivities begin with a patriotic parade followed by food, contests, vendors, and toe tappin’ music. The day is brought to a close with one of the largest, most dazzling fireworks displays in the area.

Apple Pie Bake-Off

2019 Apple Pie Bake-Off Sign-Up

Sign up online before the event using the link above. 

Pies must be entered between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Lake Dallas Information Booth in City Park, located at 101 E. Hundley Drive, Lake Dallas, TX 75065). Winners will be announced at 5 p.m. from the Main Stage. 

Prizes     

  • 1st Place:  $100.00 and a certificate
  • 2nd Place: $50.00 and a certificate
  • 3rd Place: $25.00 and a certificate

Rules

  • It is FREE to enter
  • Maximum of 15 people can enter 
  • Only homemade apple pies are allowed
  • Only one pie per person
  • All pies must be presented with a registration form on July 4, 2019 between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

  • 70% Taste
  • 30% Presentation, creativity, and composition

Slices of pie will be sold after the contest to benefit the Lake Dallas Animal Shelter. 

4th of July Stage Entertainment

  • 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM 
    Little Elmo & the Mambo Kings: Quintet performing original and classic Blues, Boogies, and Swing tunes. 
  • 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM 
    The Texas Blue Tones: Five piece band from North Dallas with influences from Rock, Classic Rock, Blues, Southern Rock, Country, and Soul. 
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
    Eleven Hundred Springs: Five Man Outlaw Country Band from Texas

The Lake Cities 4th of July celebration is a family oriented, community event. Although we have added many activities over the years, we remain true to our roots. The goal is family participation in a safe environment at a reasonable cost. There is no admission and many free activities including music all day. All of this adds to a continual stream of event-goers seeing what else there is to eat or purchase.

    As defined in Section 46-2 of the City Code of Ordinances, "It is unlawful for any person to discharge or cause to be discharged any fireworks within the corporate limits of the city. Police officers of the city may confiscate fireworks from any person found to be in violation of this provision." Through special permits for celebration and the direction and supervision of the Fire Marshall, Big Boom Pyro puts on an AMAZING fireworks show at the Lake Cities 4th of July which continues to grow in volume and popularity every year.
